MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT:
Jai Seeta Ram:
On behalf of the Shri Lakshmi Mandir/Palm Beach Sanatan Vaidic Society and its management team, I want to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for all those who volunteered in the many ways necessary to make “SUUR SANGEET”, our musical concert such a tremendous success last night.
As you know, this event was NOT a fundraiser. It was simply to say “thank you” to the community. And we truly mean “thank you”. There isn’t a more appropriate time than now as we end the year and enter the holiday season to show our gratitude for your overwhelming past support and your commitment to the future of this organization.
PRESS RELEASE!!!
Well, the preliminary results are in!!! We received many complements from those in attendance at the show last night. Some of the compliments were: “SIMPLY MARVELOUS!!!”, “Congratulations on putting on such a tremendous show”, “The kids were AWESOME. We loved their medley.” “You guys were well organized and kept us fully entertained for the evening.” “We wish the show was longer.” “We can’t wait for the next show.”
Such accolades would not have been possible if not for our outstanding cast of performers and musicians. From the very beginning, our two very young stars, Rafe Chowdury and Joeeta Anis established the mood for the evening with their magnificent Indian Folk Dance. They are stars in the making! From there, our singers and musicians, Lakshmi Nauth, Ashley Ramnaraine, Bobby Ganesh (Singer/Dolak), Shawn Bhajman (Singer/Keyboard) and Kiran Ramratan (Tabla) kept you wanting more. Our children capitated your hearts with their rendition of the medley from the hit movie, Mujhse Dosti Karoge. This was done as a tribute to the late Mr. Nakul “Leo” Persaud and Mrs. Sattie Shiwnarain, who were vital members of this organization. Of course, this would not have been possible without their choreographers, Shrimati Ourmilla and Ms. Dora Nauth. Who can forget our “Grandmas” dancing to our very own Madhuram Tassa Group. We were blessed to have our own Uncle Harry in the audience and he graced us with a splendid duet. As our feature artist told Uncle Harry, “Uncle, I wish I can sing like you when I turn 70”.
To our featured Artist, Mr. Amit Inderdeo, thank you for answering the call to share your talent and make our show the talk of our community yesterday. Your humility and modesty was clearly evident in your sweet, melodious music. We could have listened to you all night!!! Can’t wait to get a copy of your upcoming album.
Of course, the music would not have been possible without the assistance of Mr. Satish Heralall from Tropical Sounds, who has always provided his sound system, free of charge, for all our events. Please continue to support him for all your DJ needs. Mr. Satish doesn’t only provide us with his sound system, but has also been instrumental in donating his time and services towards the temple construction. We look forward to his continued support.
My final thank you is to “You”, the community for coming out and making it a grand and memorable evening. It would not have been possible without you. The credit for our success goes to you all. You helped to advertise our show, you gave us advice, and you took the time out of your busy schedule to be with us, when you could have been elsewhere. We are happy that we were able to delivery on our promise to give an evening like no other, filled with joy, laughter and entertainment.
